I'm the photographer behind Em J Photos. I live in Hitchin, Hertfordshire with my husband, baby boy and puppy Harvey.

My photography style is relaxed and modern, and I aim to help you feel as comfortable in front of the camera as possible.

I have also opened up a photography studio at my house in Hitchin, located just outside of London.

We loved our photos that Emily shot for us so much, we loved the ones where everyone is just mooching around such a stunning venue and such a relaxed wedding.

Emily was everything we could want from a photographer and more! Reliable, great communication and genuinely excited about our day. I love all our photos and Em captured the happiness and joy of the day absolutely perfectly. I even woke up the next morning to see a couple of photos sent through! I would go out of my way to recommend her to anyone!

Emily was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. In the run up, she took the time to get to know us and understand exactly what we wanted. On the day, she made us feel really relaxed. She made sure that we got the photos we wanted without it taking over. Emily was very good with the kids in our party as well. We were really happy with the photos. Amazing quality and they captured the day perfectly. I couldn't recommend Emily highly enough.

How I Work

The way I work is very relaxed and laid back, capturing those moments that last a life time is the best feeling. I really try to make you feel as comfortable as I can in front on the camera. As so many of us hate having their photo taken. Me being one of them I know how it feels.

Photos hold such precious memories from the time you say I do at your wedding to a newborn family shoot to new branding shots for your business.

I absolutely adore working with Emily, our brand shoots are always so fun, and I absolutely LOVE every set of photos she’s delivered! Emily makes you feel so at ease and comfortable in front of the camera, which really shows in the final images. She is an incredibly talented photographer, and what I love most about working with her is how brilliant she is at directing you while she shoots. As someone who finds posing really difficult, she manages to direct me so I look natural in the shots, no awkwardness in sight. She’s also just the loveliest human, and we always have lovely chats while we work. If you’re on the hunt for new brand photos, I can’t recommend Emily highly enough!

I’ve been lucky enough to have a couple of photo shoots with Emily to create content for my social media and website! Every time I work with Emily, I remember why I love her so much!! Despite showing up on camera on a regular basis, I still feel nervous about having my photo taken in a professional setting sometimes! However Emily throws all those fears out the window and we just have fun! She is so chatty and warm that she makes you feel at ease instantaneously…. so much so that you may not even realise she has started taking your picture! She really is a complete gem and I couldn’t recommend working with her enough!
